Brazil had a great dominance on this match against Ivory Coast when the “Canarinha” capitalized on their chances. There was samba on the field with Brazil having their game-plan well clear with the in depth-study of the opposition side. They outplayed The Elephants and there were some moments that defined this match.

The second goal of Brazil by Fabiano that happened after an awful mistake or lack of judgment by the referee seeing the Sevilla striker handling the ball twice (especially one just 3 meters away from him) in what would have been the greatest goal of the tournament if that incident was not so clear even to a blind person. (Even the referee spoke in a good mood with Luis Fabiano afterwards and Fabiano kept stating he did not handballed it).

Talking about being blind Stephane Lannoy later on red carded Kaka because of a challenge on Keita that reminded of the event that happened with Rivaldo back in another World Cup against Turkey (later Rivaldo was suspended two matches for lack of sportsmanship – one gold rule for FIFA). While Keita was not hit on the face he made it look like that happened and the funny thing about it was that Lannoy was not even looking at the players because he was focused on the players with the ball, still he was able to sent-off Kaka with a double yellow card. Let us put this way if it was a deliberate assault on a player it should have been a red card and not a second yellow card. Adding to that while the referee was not looking to where such action happened and the assistant was on the other side unable to have a clear perspective on that, only the fourth official would be able to see that happening (through video – in a situation where he could not take advantage of because the clear FIFA ruling on that).

So at this time Brazil is making friends with Henry, especially Fabiano with Henry. There has been rumored that they hope to play in the next all-star game of handball where surely they would succeed.

To finalize Drogba scored a great goal through a header after taking advantage of his prolific positioning knowledge.

Last time Ivory Coast won by a 6 goal margin was back in 2001 against Madagascar and Botswana in 1992. Surely these teams that lost against the Elephants are not even close to the competitiveness that North Korea will provide the African team. And they even need to wait to Brazil beat Portugal by a 3 goal margin in order to dream to advance to the second round. Place your bets.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Fabiano
