It was the very first win of the Greeks at the World Cup and giving some God’s hopes of advancing to the next stage.

On the clock we had 17 minutes so the match started with a straight first goal scored by Nigeria through Uche in a strange set-piece that looked-like a cross and ended up being a goal.

Nigerians seemed as they were not too keen in having this match in their favor. They went into a defensive closure and tried to surprise on the counter-attack, the kind of approach that Greece knows best. The whole match had Greece delivering 27 shots, 11 of which were on goal.

On the 44th minute Katsouranis moves inside the box just to feed Salpingidis that shot the ball just to take a slight deflection and beat Nigeria and so we went 1-1 into half-time.

The Africans were missing big time Sani Kaita that was sent off in the first half and with ten men they were not as dangerous as they needed to be while in the other side we had a surprise Greece fighting bravely to a deserved win that was confirmed by the 71th minute when Torosidis taps into the net after a rebounding.

Despite the mistake done by Enyeama he went to be the man of the match and could you believe it? A team that is getting knocked out like Nigeria had his goalkeeper named MOM twice and still were unable to advance. Perhaps he will feature in the best XXIII of the World Cup.
