South Africa 2-1 France

The Line-Ups:

France: 1-Hugo Lloris; 2-Bacary Sagna, 5-William Gallas, 17-Sebastien Squillaci, 22-Gael Clichy; 18-Alou Diarra, 19-Abou Diaby, 8-Yoan Gourcuff, 7-Franck Ribery; 11-Andre-Pierre Gignac, 9-Djibril Cisse.

South Africa: 1-Moeneeb Josephs; 5-Anele Ngcongoa, 20-Bongani Khumalo, 4-Aaron Mokoena, 3-Tsepo Masilela, 6-MacBeth Sibaya, 23-Thanduyise Khuboni, 10-Steven Pienaar, 8-SiphiweTshabalala, 9-Katlego Mphela, 17-Bernard Parker.

And that’s it… South Africa though Khumalo are ahead after a perfect swinging corner that Lloris made a mess of it with the “Boy” heading straight into the net. Tshabalala was the provider.

27 minutes and Gourcouff is sent off after elbowing Sibaya and France are really, really in need to shape up mentally because at this stage they look like clowns and actually clowns would make you laugh and France does not seem to have such ability.

Could you believe? South Africa 2-0 after 36 minutes. This time it was Mphela the South African hero and if something happens on the other match in terms of winning purpose than the hosts will pull it through. WOWWW… that could easily been the 3rd for Bafana Bafana but the referee disallowed the goal after Pienaar sent the ball into a offside position.

It could have been 3-0 for South Africa after a fantastic break-through pass from Tshabalala to find Mphela that hits the post of Lloris. Surelly if things keep this way Bafana Bafana will get another goal.

World Cup over for South Africa, Malouda scores after a quick counter move and well designed we must say. 2-1 South Africa is still ahead.

Tshabalala was almost there to make it 3-1 but Lloris blocked it brilliantly and the award of MOM is surely on Tshabalala.

After this performance surely South Africa deserved to go through to the second round. Amazing display to say the least and you have to see the extended highlights to admire the tactical precision and individual effort for the South African team. We will see Uruguay and Mexico in the next round.
